Free prompt checker
Paste a prompt to get a score from 0 to 100 and a short list of what is missing. No signup.
This runs in your browser. What you type here is not sent anywhere. The score shows whether your prompt has the details an AI usually needs. It can't judge how good your idea is.
What the checker looks for
It first works out what kind of request you are making, then checks for the details that kind of request needs.
- Coding: the language, what happens and what you expected, the relevant code, and your limits.
- Writing: the audience or tone, the goal, the format, and your situation.
- Business: the market, the target customer, the numbers, and the format.
- Research: sources, a time period, the scope, and the format.
- Learning: what you already know, a request for an example, and the format.
- Anything else: your situation, the format, and your limits.
What the score means
Under 45 is vague, 45 to 69 is okay, and 70 or more is strong. Longer prompts earn a little more, but only up to about 25 words, because details matter more than length.
The score is a checklist, not a judge. It uses fixed rules in English, so a high score means the usual details are there, not that the prompt will get a great answer.
